System Requirements

Windows environment running Clash Verge Rev

The client is built based on Tauri + WebView2 and has a small number of dependencies on system components. Before installation, you can check the environment against the following requirements.

Operating system
Windows 10 1809+ / Win 11

Only supports 64-bit (x64) systems and no longer supports 32-bit Windows.

Runtime library
Microsoft Edge WebView2

Win11 is built-in by default; Win10 1809+ is usually automatically installed by Windows Update. If the prompt is missing, you can go to Microsoft's official website to download the Evergreen runtime.

Hardware configuration
≥ 4 GB memory · ≥ 200 MB disk

The memory usage in idle state is usually less than 100 MB, and increases slightly when TUN is turned on.

Permissions
Administrator (optional)

Enabling system proxy or TUN mode requires administrator privileges.

Installation steps

Complete process from download to first use

The following process is organized in the recommended order. Ordinary users can follow the steps to complete the installation and first connection.

  1. 1
    Download the installation package

Click the "Standard x64 Installation Version" above to download Clash.Verge_2.5.2_x64-setup.exe. It is recommended to save it to a fixed directory for easy search when uninstalling or reinstalling in the future.

  2. 2
    Run the installer

Double-click the EXE file and follow the prompts to complete the installation. Windows SmartScreen may prompt "Unrecognized application", click "More information" → "Run anyway".

  3. 3
Start Clash Verge Rev for the first time

Launch the app from the Start menu or desktop shortcut. The first startup will initialize the configuration directory (default is located %APPDATA%\io.github.clash-verge-rev.clash-verge\), which takes about a few seconds.

  4. 4
    Import subscriptions or local configuration

Enter the "Subscription" page, paste the subscription link and click "Import", or drag the local YAML configuration file into the window. After importing, the node list will be automatically pulled.

  5. 5
Select nodes and enable system proxies

Enter the "Agent" page, select a node, and then return to the "Settings" page to turn on the "System Agent" switch. A UAC request may pop up when enabled for the first time, just authorize it.

  6. 6
    Verify connectivity

Visit any target site with the browser to confirm that it can open normally. If you still cannot connect, please refer to the "FAQ Troubleshooting" below.

Core features

Key capabilities available on Windows side

System agent + TUN dual mode

The default system proxy covers most browsers/applications; TUN mode can take over command lines, games and other programs that do not use system proxies.

Subscription automatic renewal

Subscriptions can be pulled regularly by the hour/day, and multiple subscriptions can independently manage expiration and refresh strategies.

Rule sets and policy groups

Supports GEOSITE/GEOIP, remote rule set and policy group override, and accurately distributes traffic by domain name/IP.

Node delay speed test

Shows node speed based on real TLS handshake latency (since v2.4.7), automatically selecting the best node.

Connection log and traffic statistics

View the target, rule hits, and upstream and downstream traffic of each connection in real time to facilitate troubleshooting.

Themes and custom scripts

Supports custom themes and can process subscription configurations through scripts (Merge/Script).

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions about Windows Installation and Operation

The following summarizes the most common problems on the Windows platform, with corresponding troubleshooting directions based on the symptoms.

The window is blank/no interface after startup

Usually the WebView2 runtime is missing. Go to Microsoft official website Download the Evergreen runtime, install it and reopen the application.

Defender virus reporting/security software interception

Proxy clients often receive false positives. After confirming the source of the installation package (GitHub Releases is recommended), add the installation directory to the safe software trust list.

UAC prompts pop up repeatedly during startup

Service mode/TUN mode requires administrator rights. You can turn on "Run Clash Verge service as administrator" in "Settings → System Settings" to avoid repeated pop-ups after installing the service.

No nodes after importing subscriptions

First check whether the subscription link can return content normally in the browser; then confirm the subscription template format (Clash / Clash Meta). For detailed troubleshooting, see No node FAQ after import

Unable to connect to the Internet after enabling proxy

First try to turn off the "System Agent" and then turn it on again to confirm that the node has been selected and the delay is normal. For complete troubleshooting, please see Cannot connect to the Internet after turning on the proxy FAQ

Residual proxy settings after uninstallation

Turn off the "System Agent" switch before uninstalling. If you still cannot access the Internet after uninstalling it, go to "Settings → Network and Internet → Proxy" to manually turn it off.

FAQ

Windows users FAQ

What is the relationship between Clash Verge Rev and the original Clash Verge?

The original Clash Verge has stopped updating. Rev (Revived) is an active branch maintained by the community. It is continuously iterated based on the Mihomo kernel, and the UI and configuration are compatible with the original version.

Can Windows 7/8 still be used?

Not supported. The v2.x series requires Windows 10 1809 and above (including Win11). If you must use an old system, you can look for the v1.x historical version, but its problems are no longer officially fixed.

Does it support ARM-based Windows?

Available in GitHub Releases arm64-setup.exe Build. The direct links on this page are mainly x64. ARM users please go to GitHub to select the corresponding architecture.

Where is the configuration file? Will it be retained after uninstalling?

Default location %APPDATA%\io.github.clash-verge-rev.clash-verge\. Uninstallation does not clean up by default, and it will be automatically reused after reinstallation, making it easier to retain subscriptions and settings.

What is the difference between "system proxy" and "TUN mode"?

The system proxy is based on Windows HTTP/SOCKS settings and only works on applications that support proxy; TUN mode takes over the entire machine traffic through a virtual network card, suitable for UWP, games or command line tools.

How to upgrade from old version to v2.5.2?

Just run the new installation package directly to overwrite the installation, and the configuration and subscription will be retained. "Settings → Check for Updates" in the client can also trigger automatic upgrades.
